Pause Security

Pause Security

What It Does

This feature temporarily pauses SecuPress PHP security modules. While paused, the site is no longer protected by these modules. Rules already written in the .htaccess and robots.txt files stay in place.

The pause lasts 30 minutes, then security resumes automatically. If the pause is still active after 5 minutes, a warning email is sent to the site administration address.

Why It Matters

Security vulnerabilities can expose your website, user data, and business to serious risks.

By putting this security measure in place, you protect your website against threats and potential attacks. The pause is only meant to diagnose a one-off conflict: it must not stay enabled.

How to Use

Open the Dashboard module in SecuPress settings. In the Security Status section, click Pause Security.

You can also resume security from:

  • the same button, which then reads Re-activate Security;
  • the WordPress admin bar (red item Security is paused — Activate);
  • the warning notice shown in the administration area while the pause is active.

Once reactivated, PHP protection resumes immediately. If you do nothing, it resumes on its own after 30 minutes.
