Malware Scanners
SecuPress includes a powerful malware scanner since 1.0 and 3 malwares scanners (same data) since 2.3.
File Scanner
Between 1.0 and 2.3, the file scanner includes its data in the /pro/data/ folder. Each plugin update included the last malware data. They are loaded only when a Malware Scan is running. Since 2.3 the data is loaded from our website after license validation, the advantage is that the malware database is updated each day if needed.
Results of the scanner are based on our malware R&D, from our research or from our users (send us your .zip!!). So, false positive can be found in the results.
Do not delete files from the results, you have to check the signature, the filename, the path and maybe the content, then you can decide if this file is clearly a virus or not.
If you need help, you can ask us to check for you, by sending a zip file or a FTP access, no charge, it's support and may help other people.
Content Spam Scanner
The data are the same but instead of scanning files from the installation, the content of your posts and pages are scanned.
Database Scanner
The data are the same but instead of scanning files from the installation, the content of your database (options, meta) is scanned.
Issues
You may encounter a "Not Available" message on each scanner in our plugin interface, this means that the data files are not correctly downloaded.
- Check your license, is it still activated, valid and not expired, is it?
- Open your client account on secupress.me.
- You website should have access to Internet, is it?
- Install a plugin from wp.org, it should work.
- Your cron jobs should work correctly, is it?
- Install the plugin "WP Crontrol", go to "Events" in the plugin interface, search for "secupress_malware_files_cron" and click on "Run". No error should pop.
- Our website should not be disallowed by your host, is it?
- Ask them if secupress.me and our IP address is allowed.
At this point, if you can't see the malware scanners available, open a support ticket on support@secupress.me.
